“I think ZoneAlarm Pro Firewall Protection is a great product. I have this installed with SP2, Firefox, Giant Anti-spyware, and a couple of other security programs and they work great together. Let's see, it says it has blocked 6,430 intrusions and 2 of those have been high-rated. “
“I've gone back and forth between ZoneAlarm and Norton and others. Norton has gotten increasingly bloated and resource hungry for the last several years and I have come to really appreciate the effectiveness of ZoneAlarm Suite combined with only a light hit on system performance. It is far superior to Norton Internet Security 2004 or 2005 in just about every regard. The only nag I have about it is that the virus scanner sometimes seems to have a life of its own, and does not always want to keep a regular schedule. Still, the suite installed without incident and has run without error for several months now. I have not used tech support, so I can't comment on this aspect. I will say that if they can read or speak English in any kind of passable fashion, they are already ahead of Symantec.”
“I have used Zone Alarm, free version, for several years. I have never had a security breach while ZA has been operational. I purchased Zone Alarm Pro 4 over a year ago and it has performed well after some tweaks to meet my usage. During my subscription I have been able to update to version 5.5 and 6.0 . I found version 6.0 to be unstable on my 2 year old machine, so I removed 6.0 and reinstalled 5.5 . If you use ZA Pro 5.5 do not let your subscription expire. I found it disables antivirus monitoring. Also, it makes me question , What else has been disabled? I believe that is a break in trust. If an individual purchases software then it should operate fully as long as it can function on the machine, ie: OS version and hardware, not because a subscription is in force. A subscription is for updating software and for support. Maybe they have changed their EULA since I bought 4.0. I am a bit disappointed. Perhaps, I shall move on to their competitor. “
“I used Zone Alarm's security suite. Since the day I installed it, my system ran like a turtle. I realize it was trying to protect me by scanning all my word files, and outlook stuff, but it was unbearably slow. I switched over to ZoneAlarm after reading the reviews and couldn't be happier. My system runs much quicker now and I have't had any problems with viruses or other malware. The only frustration is that when I go to image search in google, I have to first turn off the proxy avoidance filter in ZoneAlarm. A minor nuisance. Overall, very pleased.”
“I first installed Zone Alarm and it installed and ran perfectly. After a short while it crashed and gave me an error message. Being a novice I decided to just dump it for Norton Security. What a mistake. My computer slowed to a crawl in every area. Startup, program load, etc. It would take upwards of 20 seconds to load a program even though I have a Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz machine. As soon as I reloaded Zone Alarm Suite and received a update which had a stability patch everything runs perfect. My speed is back to normal too. I highly recommend this product.”
“This is one of the best firewall's on the market. I have used ZoneAlarm Pro Firewall Protection for 2 years, never had a problem with it and did a excellent job until now. I bought a PC running XP media edition and when you load the old software load from CD it runs fine, but when you update to new latest software load, it locks , your PC gets stuck in endless boots, you may have to do total PC re-installation as I have had to do. I think its related to media edition only because it is running fine on xp home edition on my labtop. So beware, if you have media edition.”
